Beatrice Bio:

Embracing Change, Honouring Legacy: A New Chapter for Beatrice
In 2025, Beatrice and her husband, Stefan, will embark on a new adventure, embracing the serenity of the Sunshine Coast, BC. For three decades, they nurtured a vibrant family life in Vancouver, built a flourishing gallery, and made a lasting impact on the German Canadian business world. Now, with a heart full of gratitude and a vision for the future, Beatrice is transitioning from her role as Co-Owner of Bel Art Gallery to focus on art consulting, bringing her wealth of experience to new horizons.

A Journey of Purpose and Passion
From the moment Beatrice and Stefan arrived in Canada in 1995, they poured their energy into creating a meaningful life. As they raised their two children, they also built Bel Art Gallery, a beacon of artistic expression in North Vancouver. But Beatrice’s impact stretched far beyond the gallery walls.

A dedicated leader, she devoted nearly three decades to the German Canadian Business Association (GCBA), where she became the first female President in 2005. With resilience and vision, she led the organization until March 2024, when she gracefully passed the torch to the next generation. She also championed the German Canadian Heritage Plaza, serving as Chair until 2017, when it received official Memorial status and lifelong maintenance—ensuring that history and heritage remain preserved for years to come.

Her dedication extended across the community, where she played a vital role in supporting German-Canadian organizations, from the German Canadian Care Home and German Schools to the European Festival, SOS Children’s Village BC, and St. Mark’s Church.

Art, Leadership, and a Lifelong Commitment to Creativity
Beatrice’s passion for art was shaped by her upbringing in a family of art historians. She pursued studies in textile design and business, later becoming a haute couture designer and seamstress before stepping into leadership as the managing director of an international children’s clothing company. She continued to rise, taking on the role of regional training manager for one of Germany’s leading fashion companies.
Her artistic vision led to the creation of Bel-Art Kunstverlag, which evolved into Bel Art Gallery, a renowned space for local and international artists. But beyond the exhibitions and events, Beatrice’s work has always been about inspiring others—mentoring young artists, fostering creativity, and bringing people together.

Beatrice was rewarded with the CROSS OF MERIT of Germany in 2015 and an Honorary Lifetime Membership of the GCBA in 2021.
